A karate instructor accused of molesting two young girls in the bathroom of his Bronx martial arts studio may have sexually assaulted additional students who have yet to come forward, police said Friday.
Police arrested Anthony Gonzalez, 37, on Jan. 17 after a 6-year-old student at the USA Martial Arts Fitness Academy in Morrisania told her mother Gonzalez had led her into a studio bathroom, pulled down her karate uniform and touched her genitals, cops said.
An ensuing investigation revealed the martial arts teacher had molested another student several times between November 2015 and June 2017, starting when that child was 5, sources said.
Gonzalez was charged with a course of sexual conduct against a child, sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
He was ordered held on $350,000 bail.
Investigators suspect Gonzalez sexually abused additional children and are urging victims, witnesses or anyone with information to contact police.
He is described as 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair worn in a ponytail.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
