Here's another way to find out what's happening in your state: Ask Alexa!
NJ.com is now available on any Alexa-enabled device. All you have to do is enable the skill and ask, 'Alexa, what's happening around New Jersey?
You won't be alone. One in six Americans owns a smart speaker, a figure that's up more than 120 percent from a year ago -- and the majority of those people use Amazon's Alexa.
It's easy (and free) to add NJ.com's daily briefing to your device.
Here are the steps:
- Download the Alexa app to your mobile phone.
- Select "Skills" from the Main Menu on the app.
- Search All Skills for "What's Happening Around New Jersey"
- Tap the NJ.com logo to open the detail page.
- Select "Enable Skill"
When that's done, all you need to do is turn to your Alexa and ask, "Alexa, What's Happening Around New Jersey?"
The update, provided weekdays, will include the most interesting stories in New Jersey, plus a "Fast Fact of the Day."
