Col. Ann Assumpico said the trooper left Morgan alone in the vehicle when he went to check on an accident on Route 146. She said when troopers come upon an accident on a highway, they have a duty to check on it.But Morgan, still in handcuffs, somehow got into the driver’s seat and drove away. He remains at large.“We’re looking for him right now,” Assumpico said. “We have troopers and state police officers in the area.”Assumpico added that Morgan has an extensive record and hopes they locate him immediately.“We definitely want him. That’s why we’re putting out this information so people can recognize him and let us know as soon as they can,” she said.
