A 19-year-old college student who thought she was infertile has opened up about her shock at learning she was actually nine-months pregnant, just hours before giving birth - having passed off her symptoms as period pains and quarantine weight gain. Mother-of-one Kate Schmittling, a sophomore at University of Toledo in , welcomed her one-year-old son in February 2021 - however she recently opened up about the unique circumstances of his arrival in a video, recalling her horror at discovering she was not only pregnant, but due to give birth in a matter of hours.The student, now 20, who hails from , recalled gaining a small amount of weight, which she thought was simply because she had been eating unhealthy and skipping the gym amid the pandemic.
