The Board of Pardons and Paroles has begun an expedited investigation into whether or not to grant clemency to the man convicted of killing a protester in 2020. Gov. Greg Abbott requested that the board swiftly review the case and recommend a pardon, a procedure that must be done before a pardon can be granted in the state of Texas.Army Sgt. Daniel Perry, previously stationed at Fort Hood in Texas, was found guilty of murder on Friday for the 2020 death of Garrett Foster.
