Scores on the ACT college admissions test have hit their lowest point in more than 30 years - the latest evidence of the enormity of learning disruption during the pandemic lockdowns. The class of 2022's average ACT composite score was 19.8 out of 36 when the results released on Wednesday, marking the first time since 1991 that the average score was below 20. An increasing number of high school students failed to meet any of the subject-area benchmarks set by the ACT.
