Alabama man sentenced to death gets a message from his senator

Sen. Tommy Tuberville sent well wishes to an man who survived his last capital punishment attempt and is scheduled to receive a never-before-used method of execution Thursday.

Kenneth Smith, a 58-year-old convicted killer whose 2022 lethal injection was called off at the last minute because authorities couldn’t , is scheduled to be executed at a south Alabama prison Thursday evening.

'Evidently, the other opportunity didn't work,' Alabama Sen. Tuberville said of Smith's past execution attempt. 'I hope it does this time.'
