Austin Butler didn't see his family for three years while preparing and starring in his role as the King of Rock and Roll in the musical-drama Elvis.

Sitting down with Janelle Monáe for , the actor, 31, shared the depths he went to in order to get into character of the legendary singer Elvis Presley.

Austin had roughly a year and a half to prepare before they started filming Baz , he said.
