The United States, Canada and Australia are the worst offenders among rich countries skimping on their "fair share" of tens of billions of dollars pledged to help developing nations fight climate change, according to a new analysis.The calculations emerged as the Albanese government made an otherwise positive start in its attempt to rehabilitate the country's climate image on the world stage.Wealthy countries have pledged $US100 billion ($155 billion) in climate finance each year, starting in 2020, to help poorer nations adapt to climate change and mitigate its effects, but are still billions of dollars short of that goal.
