Sec. of State Antony said the U.S. could not confirm whether Russia had used in its attack on but reiterated that the U.S. had 'credible information' that Russia could do so. 'We're not in a position to confirm anything. I don't think the Ukrainians are either,' the secretary said, asked about the reports. 'We had credible information that Russian forces may use a variety of riot control agents including tear gas mixed with chemical agents that would cause symptoms to weaken or incapacitate entrenched Ukrainian fighters and civilians as part of the aggressive campaign to take Mariupol.'
