Body found in search is Dr Michael Mosley, Greek police confirm

Greek police today confirmed that they had found Dr Michael Mosley's body following a treacherous five-day search in the searing heat on the Greek holiday island of Symi.

The beside Agia Marina today after an extensive search operation led by emergency workers, around 30 minutes walk from the village of Pedi where the Mail columnist, 67, was last seen.

Dr Mosley - one of who popularised the 5:2 diet and made regular TV appearances - was with friends at Agios Nikolaos beach on Wednesday, before going alone for a walk to the centre of the island.
