British couple tell of terrifying moment 70ft waves smashed into chip

A British grandma and grandad were trapped in the middle of the North Sea after huge waves battered their cruise ship.

Brian Launder, 75, was on board the MS Maud with his wife Carole to celebrate her 70th birthday with their first-ever cruise.

The vessel was a Norwegian ship that takes tourists along stretches of the coastline where larger, traditional boats can't reach.
