The NFL may finally be on the verge of having a black team owner more than 100 years after the league's founding, and just two weeks since it was sued for racial discrimination.Media mogul Byron Allen has announced that he is preparing a bid for the Denver Broncos, a club that went on the market earlier this month following the 2019 passing of longtime owner Pat Bowlen. The club was valued at $3.75 billion last year by — an 11-percent uptick from 2020 and good enough for 10th highest among NFL teams.According to Allen, chairman and chief executive officer at Allen Media Group, it was that same year that he was approached by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft about buying into the league.
