Using cannabis can significantly increase a person's risk of developing an irregular heartbeat, a new study finds.A Danish research team from Gentofte University, in Copenhagen, found that those who regularly use the drug to manage chronic pain are at a 74 percent increased risk of developing arrhythmia — an issue where a person's heart beats at an irregular pace.Marijuana use is spiking in the U.S., as it gains legalization across the country. The drug is now legal recreationally in 19 states and the District of Columbia, and can be used medicinally in nearly every state.
