A beloved fixture known as 'the Walking Man' is clinging to life after a self-described 'angry person' with a dollar sign face tattoo doused him with gasoline then set him ablaze. He burned for three minutes.The prognosis is grim for Joseph Kormelis, 75, a homeless man known to residents in the Windy City for wandering around with his long flowing hair and his bushy mustache. Documentaries have been made about his perambulations.According to the Cook County State's Attorney, Joseph Guardia, 23, of Melrose Park, poured a cup of gas on Kormelis on May 25 shortly before 3 a.m. as he slept under some blankets in front of a parking garage and then set him on fire.
