Cops shot and wounded a woman after she fired at them when they were called to her home in Staten Island for a domestic disturbance Sunday, police sources said. The woman was running out of her house on Highland Ave. near Howard Ave. in Grymes Hill around 12:45 p.m. when police tried to stop her, sources said. She fired at the cops, who then fired back, hitting the woman in the stomach, according to sources. None of the cops were hit. The woman was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition. The two officers involved were taken to Staten Island University Hospital North for evaluation, police said.
Investigators recovered a revolver on the ground. Neighbors were alarmed to hear gunshots on their quiet block. “They were loud,” said Roland Molina, 63, who heard at least four shots. “I heard a woman screaming, ‘I’m f--king shot!’ “I’m shaken,” Molina added. “You don’t expect it.”
