Consumer expectations for rose this month for the first time since March, in a troubling sign that Americans are losing faith in the 's ability to control soaring prices.The University of 's preliminary survey on Friday showed one-year inflation expectations rose to 5.1 percent this month, up from 4.7 percent in September. The survey's five-year inflation outlook increased to 2.9 percent from 2.7 percent last month.
