A man was arrested for two violent rapes on golf courses over 20 years ago after cold case detectives matched the scene DNA to his coffee cup.Kurt Rillema, 51, was arraigned on April 18 in connection to a 1999 rape at the Twin Lakes Golf Club in Michigan and another in 2000 at a Penn State University golf course. The cases went cold after police couldn't identify a suspect despite confirming the DNA at both incidents was a match in 2004. It wasn't until 2021 that detectives in both states attempted to find another way to identify the suspect.
