The world's biggest fossil fuel companies are planning almost 200 'carbon bomb' oil and gas projects that could doom efforts to limit planetary warming to 2.7°F (1.5°C), new research shows. An investigation found that these schemes could potentially unleash some 646 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions, with around 60 per cent of them already producing oil and gas.Campaigners say the other 40 per cent of projects that have not yet started must be stopped if the world is to avoid a climate catastrophe.
