Take-Two Interactive, the maker of Grand Theft Auto, is buying Farmville and Words with Friends creator Zynga in a $12.7bn cash-and-stock deal, the company said on Monday.The acquisition aims to tap into a surge in mobile gaming by bringing together Take-Two’s powerhouse expertise in console gaming with Zynga’s massive following in on-the-go gaming.Take-Two, also known for Red Dead Redemption, offered $9.86 per share, representing a 64 percent premium to Zynga’s last closing price. By Monday mid-morning, Zynga’s shares had already soared nearly 46 percent to $8.75. Take-Two’s fell more than 14 percent.
