On Monday, Governor Gavin Newsom threatened to enact mandatory water restrictions on the population, as the state's water usage spiked amid the worst drought condition in at least a century.The West Coast state usually receives most of its annual rain and snow falls in the first three months of the year, however, this year there's been a dry spell for January, February and March.As a result, water usage in California jumped 19 percent in March compared to the same period in 2020, despite the state government's calls for conservation.
