A Harvard University scholar who studies dishonesty has fired back at claims that she fabricated research data, filing a $25 million lawsuit alleging she was the target of a 'smear campaign.'Tenured professor Francesca Gino filed the 100-page lawsuit on Wednesday in federal court, claiming Harvard and a trio of data scientist bloggers defamed her with false claims of academic fraud.'I want to be very clear: I have never, ever falsified data or engaged in research misconduct of any kind,' Gino said in a statement, her first public response to the scandal that has rocked academia to its core.
