The House on Wednesday voted 220-203 to hold Trump insiders Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino in contempt of Congress, a referral that will now be sent to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for possible criminal charges. Navarro, a Trump trade advisor, and Scavino, who headed the former president's social media operations failed to appear before the committee investigating Jan. 6, ignoring a subpoena to do so. The DOJ can now choose whether to move forward with misdemeanors that can result in up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
