Since the start of 2020, more than 20 million Americans have become first-time gun owners, with women - especially from minority backgrounds - making up a significant share of the spike.

Grace Boatright, a firearms safety instructor, told the Daily Mail that there had been a boom in recent years in women signing up for her classes to become better acquainted with the laws and safety of owning and carrying a gun.
