Hurricane Agatha, the first of the season, was barreling towards Mexico’s southwest coast, where it was predicted to make landfall as a powerful Category 3 storm, according to the United States National Hurricane Center.The storm is expected to make landfall along the Puerto Escondido and Puerto Angel in the southern state of Oaxaca, an area dotted with laid-back tourist resorts, on Monday afternoon local time.Agatha could “bring an extremely dangerous storm surge and life-threatening winds”, the National Hurricane Center warned.
