The International Testing Agency confirmed that the 15-year-old Russian figure skater who won Olympic Gold with her teammates had failed a drug test in December. Kamila Valieva had tested positive for Trimetazidine, or TMZ, on December 25, 2021 during 's annual Figure Skating Championships in Saint Petersburg, but the Russian Anti-Doping Agency still cleared her to compete in the Winter Games. Experts in Stockholm, were sent the sample and they reported on Tuesday that it had returned an adverse finding for the non-specified prohibited substance TMZ, which is on the world anti-doping banned list.
