The sheriff of County has called out the District Attorney saying the police were 'never consulted' in the 'lightweight sentence' handed to a teen who hit a mother and her child while high on drugs.Alex Villanueva, 59, wrote in a statement that George Gascon, 68, 'released a statement claiming that the Sheriff's Department was okay with the lightweight sentencing' handed to the now 17-year-old criminal. 'We were never consulted as we were not the investigating agency. Sheriff's Investigators would never be ok with the lightweight sentencing in this hit and run case,' he siad.
