Revolutionary American photographer William Klein, who built his legacy with imagery of fashion and urban life and strongly influenced the medium in the late 20th century, has died aged 96. Klein depicted the restlessness of city life through gritty portraiture often inspired by tabloid sensationalism and was one of the first to take models out of the studio and into the streets.Klein died 'peacefully in Paris' at the weekend, confirmed by his son, Pierre Klein, in a statement released on Monday.
