Live updates as U.S and Russia meet for Ukraine peace talks

Senior U.S. and Russian officials are meeting in today to start talks on improving diplomatic ties and negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine.

The meeting at the Diriyah Palace in Riyadh marks a step by the Trump administration to reverse US policy on isolating and could pave the way for a meeting between US President and Russian President Vladimir .

But Ukraine's President Volodymyr has criticised the approach with no Ukrainian officials taking part in discussions and has already declared he will not accept the outcome.
