Man accidentally hired an undercover fed to kill his wife

A husband and father-of-three pleaded guilty on Thursday to accidentally hiring an undercover agent to kill his wife amid their messy divorce.

Massimo Marenghi, 56, faces nearly a decade behind bars for his failed murder-for-hire case against his wife in 2021.

Marenghi was put on law enforcement's radar on January 1, 2021, when an unidentified individual reported he asked them for help in killing his wife after complaining she was filing a restraining order against him.
