A couple who found the woman was carrying a stranger's fetus is suing their fertility clinic and its staff, including an embryologist who was responsible for a similar mix-up in the 1990s.The woman, known only as Jane Doe, became pregnant in July 2021 after three painful egg retrievals at the New York Fertility Institute, where an entire cycle costs $12,730.But staff at the Manhattan clinic repeatedly denied any wrongdoing - even as independent, third-party tests showed that there was no DNA match between the couple and the baby, according to a lawsuit filed on March 25 in Manhattan federal court.
