Despite Donald Trump's apparent wishes, Meghan McCain wanted nothing to do with his reality show, "Celebrity Apprentice."
During a recent interview with People, the co-host of "The View" claimed that Trump tried to get her to join the show "several times" over the years.
"I was asked to be on 'The Apprentice' several times and said no," McCain told People. "He [Trump] left a voice message and I didn’t call back. I didn’t want to be an Apprentice. Like, the whole thing, I didn’t like all of it."
While the outlet reports that "she doesn't remember all the details," she said that the call came during her stint as a writer for The Daily Beast sometime after 2009, following her late father's failed 2008 presidential campaign.
McCain went on to say that she thought "The Apprentice" (and its later incarnation, "Celebrity Apprentice") "was a dumb show."
"No offense," the 35-year-old pundit added. "My dear close friend Clay Aiken came in second, so I shouldn’t talk too much sh-- about it."
