Republicans now have another reason to oppose Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation to the Supreme Court due to revelations of her weak sentencing of a child incest rapist. But the three most moderate GOP lawmakers in the upper chamber, Senators Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowksi of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine say they will back the nominee – so any opposition is moot. The revelation of the weak sentencing came just ahead of the Senate Judiciary Committee's vote Monday on confirming President Joe Biden's nominee. The committee vote resulted in an 11-11 tie along party lines, which means that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had to file a discharge motion to get a full floor vote on Jackson's nomination.
