The RAF today scrambled Typhoon fighters to intercept two more long-range Russian bombers approaching UK airspace, just a day after jets escorted four others away from the coast of Scotland. The Typhoons were launched from RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, Scotland, after two Russian Tu-95 Bear F aircraft approached the UK's airspace. The fighter jets, supported by a Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker from RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, intercepted the Russian aircraft before they could reach the 'UK area of interest' and escorted the bombers off the coast of Scotland, a spokesman said.
