While the vast majority of schools in New Jersey had already planned to be closed Monday, Feb. 18 for Presidents Day, some schools that opted to hold classes on the holiday as a makeup for past snow days have had announced delayed openings due to another snowstorm hitting the state overnight.The National Weather Service forecast called for 1 to 3 inches north of I-78 starting Sunday night and continuing through the Monday morning commute. A light glaze of ice is also a concern. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset and Warren counties.For the central part of the state between I-195 and I-78, just a coating to an inch of snow is likely, according to the weather service update issued Sunday afternoon.New Jersey has so far escaped a major snowstorm this winter, but a series of smaller storms have clipped the northwestern part of the state and forced multiple days of school closures.The following schools have announced delays for Monday.
