NBC News correspondent Emilie Ikeda broke down in tears in front of the cameras as she paid respects to her grandfather who was forcibly relocated and sent to a Japanese internment camp during WWII at the age of seven. The 28-year-old from Philadelphia visited the Japanese American National Museum in this week to find the name of her grandfather, Bunji Albert Ikeda, in a 25lb, 1,000-page book known as the Ireicho. The weighty tome was compiled by University of Southern professor Duncan Ryuken Williams over a three-year period and it lists all 125,284 names of the Japanese Americans who were impacted the by Executive Order 9066 in 1942, including Emilie's grandparents.
