New York state is offering the first 150 licenses for the legal sale of weed to people - and their relatives - who have been previously convicted of dealing or selling the drug.The policy, implemented by the state's Democratic leaders, seeks to compensate African-American and Hispanic communities whose members were disproportionately arrested and convicted during the time weed was illegal.The for residents aged 21 and over in March 2021.
