Nightmare in Edinburgh after reports a 'severed head' was found

Police have swarmed 's party district following unverified reports a 'severed head' was found in the street.

Eyewitnesses claimed the gruesome discovery was made in the Cowgate area in the city's Old Town, the Daily Record has reported.

So far, police have said they were responding to reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle, but have not released further details.
