Noah Lyles WINS Olympic 100m final over Jamaica's Kishane Thompson

is an Olympic champion for the very first time after storming home to glory in the men's 100m final by a whisker.

Lyles, who had to settle for second place in his semifinal earlier in the day, swept up his first Olympic gold by a fractions of a second in a time of 9.79 seconds on Sunday.

It marks the greatest moment of the 27-year-old's career, following on from a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games in 2021, as he edged out Kishane Thompson.
