In a technological breakthrough that could , a Chinese company has begun mass producing tiny nuclear batteries that can last for decades. The BV100 battery, created by BetaVolt, is smaller than a coin, but is capable of powering a device for up to 50 years, the company claims. That's because it gets its power from a radioactive isotope called Nickel-63, which releases energy as it slowly decays.
