Republican and Democratic members of New York’s congressional delegation and the White House on Tuesday shared their horror and prayers over the Brooklyn subway shooting that left at least 16 people injured and eight shot. President Biden was briefed on the shooting Tuesday morning, press secretary Jen Psaki revealed on Twitter, adding that, “White House senior staff are in touch with Mayor Adams and Police Commissioner Sewell to offer any assistance as needed.” As details of the shooting emerged around 9 a.m., several New York lawmakers including Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis and Democratic Rep. Nydia Velasquez said they were also monitoring and gathering information on the incident.
