New York City and New Jersey will be among the “host cities” when the 2026 soccer World Cup kicks off in the US, Canada and Mexico, FIFA announced Thursday.The Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia and Dallas areas will also play hosts in the tournament, the first with an expanded 48-team bracket and co-hosting.The “New York” games will actually take place at MetLife Stadium, in Rutherford, New Jersey — the home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets.
