The oldest clinical case of a super rare genetic disease that adversely affects testicular growth has been uncovered in the remains of a man who died 1,000 years ago in Portugal.Known as Klinefelter syndrome, this condition gives men an extra X chromosome that greatly impacts motor skills like standing and sitting, as well as their intellectual development - but it is only found in approximately one in 1,000 genetic-male births.Although archaeologists did not know the remains were riddled with the disease, the skull features signs such as larger than average teeth and a serious gum infection that damaged the soft tissue in his mouth before death - both of which are caused by the genetic condition.
