The owner of a senior housing facility where three women died in May during a heat wave that caused temperatures to soar into the low 90s has been fined $1,500 by the city's buildings department.Janice Reed, 68, Gwendolyn Osborne, 72, and Delores McNeely, 76, all died on May 14 at the James Sneider Apartments, with their autopsies linking the deaths directly to the heat wave in the building where the heating was left on.And now, the owner of the same residential building has been fined after an inspection by the buildings department found 11 code violations — two of which were the result of a rooftop air conditioning 'chiller' that did not appear to be suitable for use on the exterior of the building, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
