Pregnant women who regularly take painkillers are 50 per cent more likely to have complications compared to those who do not, a study has found. Aberdeen University researchers found there were higher rates of preterm birth and stillbirth among those who took over-the-counter pain relief, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.Preterm birth was 50 per cent more likely among women who took one of five common painkillers at some point during their pregnancy.
