Sarah Palin has launched a legal bid for a new defamation case against The New York Times by attacking the judge who presided over her last trial for being 'partial and predisposed.' Judge Jed Rakoff threw out Palin's defamation case against the Times after he determined she 'wholly failed' to prove the newspaper acted with actual malice against her when it published an editorial, incorrectly linking her to a 2011 mass shooting in where six people died and then-congresswoman Gabby Giffords was seriously wounded. 'I think that there is one essential element that plaintiff has not carried its burden with—the portion of actual malice relating to belief in falsity or reckless disregard in falsity,' he said in February.
