The Clinton-appointed judge who threw out Sarah Palin's defamation suit against The New York Times while the jury was still deliberating the case claimed jurors 'will not know about my decision.'US District Judge Jed Rakoff defended his premature decision to scrap the libel case Monday after ruling Palin's legal team failed to produce evidence that The Times acted with 'actual malice' when publishing factual inaccuracies about the former vice presidential candidate in a 2017 op-ed piece titled 'America’s Lethal Politics.' 'I certainly considered the possibility that I should wait until after the jury had rendered its verdict in this case, but the more I thought about it over the weekend, the more I thought that was unfair to both sides. We’ve had very full argument on this; I know where I’m coming out,' Rakoff said.
