The parents of a four-year-old boy are suing a Texas hospital for $500,000 after he was mistakenly given a vasectomy during surgery to treat a hernia on his groin.Before the surgery, the boy, only identified in court documents as 'R.B,' complained of of right-sided swelling in his scrotum that would worsen in the evenings when Dr. Susan L Jarosz recommended a right inguinal hernia repair in August 2021, according to . The surgery, conducted at the Texas Children's Hospital, was scheduled for August 4, 2021, but when trying to remove the hernia, court documents say, Jarosz also cut the vas deferens, which carry the sperm out of the testes.
