Pilots on board a regional jet have diverted their flight to after someone who was allegedly authorized to ride in the cockpit tried to shut down the engines. The Airlines flight, which was being operated by a subsidiary, landed safely on the north west runway after the security incident on Sunday, according to CNBC. After departing from Everett in suburban Seattle, the plane was due to land at San Francisco, but had to stop short of its planned destination over what the airline described as a 'credible security threat'.
