A private island where Eleanor Roosevelt once spent her entire summers - and once owner by - has hit the market for a touch under $3 million.
The 8.6-acre island, known as Camp Northwind, is in the middle of Chazy Lake in New York's Adirondack Mountains and accessible from the town of Ellenburg Depot by boat or private causeway.
The historic property, on the market for $2.97million, was built in 1928 by the popular early 20th century baritone opera singer and recording artist Reinald Werrenrath - and designed by the noted architectural firm McKim Mead & White.
